CRAFT :: Washi Tape EASTER Eggs

crafting with washi tape, how to make washi tape easter eggs, easter

Hello party friends – It’s Melissa here!  It will be Easter and Spring before you know it and I am so excited for the first flowers to bloom in our yard!

We have a lot of traditions in our home but sadly, egg dying for Easter is not one of them. I don’t mind the kids getting messy at all but for some reason they never attached themselves to egg dying 8(   I have a new trick up my sleeve this year!

Washi Eggs!!! – WHY NOT? RIGHT!

(if you know me, you know I am a Washi Tape gal – I find ways to sneak it into every party I plan..hehehe)

What you will need:  Washi Tape and Eggs (either fake, hardboiled or you can even use hollow eggs that you blew out the yokes.)

For purposes of this tutorial I am using “fake” plastic eggs that I purchased at a craft store.

Step 1 – get out all that Washi Tape that you have been collecting in your drawer and lay it all out.

Step 2 – enlist the help of your friends, kids or maybe even your hubby to help tear the tape

Step 3 – adhere tape to eggs.  It won’t all “sit” pretty without ripples – but that is Ok 8)

Step 4 – Go to Town! Keep covering and overlapping the washi tape – don’t be afraid to mix up the colors, patterns, sizes

Step 5 – Display!

I think the kids did a fabulous job on the eggs and they had a great time doing it! Of course no mess with this decorating project! You can keep the eggs (if they are fake like mine) for years to come (I might even spray at little glossy finish to them before I put them away) or crack ‘em open and make egg salad after Easter!

Until next time  - Party On Friends!
