ART PRINTS :: Christmas Movie Quotes

christmas vacation quote, it's christmas and we're all in misery

Hey there! Happy (almost) Merry Christmas & happy holidays and all of that good stuff to you all! When I decided to 'ink' some art prints for Christmas this year, I really - like really, wanted to do some famous Christmas movie quotes from MY favorite movies that I watch every year. I started a list and before I knew it, my list was H-U-G-E, since there are so many amazing quotes I could have used!  But I decided to squeeze in these two favorites of mine for you all to enjoy!

it's christmas & we're all in misery, Christmas Vacation movie quote

These are my personal two favorite all-time movies for the holidays so it was only fitting that I chose these! And why did I choose these particular quotes? Well the first is soooooooo fitting for all of us mommas trying to do it all right now in the last week of Christmas and the other one, well, who doesn't love smiling? ;)

If you follow me on Instagram, then you always see what prints I am currently 'inking' and working on, as that is where all the 'behind the scenes' action is documented. So you may or may not have seen a couple of these already with my sneak peeks! ;)

You can get the "It's Christmas and we're ALL in misery" print from Christmas Vacation or the "Smiling's my Favorite" print from Elf in the shop now!

If you are more into the traditional Christmas quotes or need a last minute gift idea, you can check out these FOUR new prints that hit the shop recently: 'Joy to the World', 'O Holy Night', 'a Thrill of Hope', and 'let Heaven & Nature Sing'. I decided to keep them all inked in black so they could be framed and used to match any color scheme you currently have . . .

You will find all of these new Christmas art prints, available in the shop to purchase for yourself to add to your decor or to give as a gift. They are perfect to frame, gift to a friend, or wrap up as a gift . . . everyone loves a great art print to decorate their space! I do. ;)

HOLIDAY IDEA :: the Night Before Christmas

the night before christmas holiday idea, stockings, cocoa bar

We are giddy with the Christmas spirit over here at My Party Passion.  The children are preparing their hearts and our home for the “big guy’s” visit.  They are always reminding me to make sure we leave Santa some cookies, sweets and creamy hot cocoa, topped off with marshmallows, of course.

My muse for this Night Before Christmas set up are these darling vintage plates from WorldMarket.  They have two designs, one with Santa and one with Rudolph and Frosty.  So of course being a party gal I bought three sets. Lol

striped stockings, santa snack, gingerbread men, christmas cookies

Hanging the red and white striped stockings by the chimney with care is a must!  By the time Santa gets to New York, he will certainly welcome the hot cocoa.  As Santa sips on cocoa he can snack on the gingerbread men waiting for him and even stick a few peppermint sticks in his pocket for late snacking.

In my usual party on a budget styling, I found this great vintage feel wrapping paper from a dollar store as a table covering.

I am totally in love with all the new hand drawn prints from Laura. Using the Joy to the World print is perfect for my vintage feel. (You can purchase this print and more in Laura’s Etsy shop.)

Our home will be ready to welcome Santa in a few days with plenty of Christmas cheer. I sure hope he leaves me the new bathrobe I asked for.

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and best wishes for a prosperous New Year.  Until next year – Party on Friends!

WEDDING :: Emerald Inspiration Board

Hello everyone & welcome to "Wedding Wednesday"!

::  candles  ::  headband  ::  dress  ::  cake toppers  ::  chair cover  ::  tassel

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Emerald is one of these colors that exude the feeling of class. I love emerald and how rich of a color it is. It is the perfect color right now for the season we are in and many people use it in their parties and events because it looks amazing by itself or paired with an accent color.

  I am loving the simplicity of these candle holders as it uses greenery from the season and still looks amazing. I love headbands of all kinds and this one is so unique and would look fabulous paired with an amazing dress. These long dresses are stunning and so would the bridal party who is wearing them as they are perfect for a winter or a spring wedding. These edible cake toppers adorning this cake add a certain flair to the wedding cake and make it not only fun but keep it classy at the same time. Chair covers can be a bit on the boring side but these definitely step up and make sitting down stylish! What's a party without a little glitz and glamor, and this tissue tassel with a tiny bit of gold would be perfect to add behind a cake table at your event.

Have you ever been to a wedding that used the color emerald in their theme?  What was your favorite element of the event?  I would LOVE to hear the details . . .spill below ;)

Our Christmas Cards

I can finally say that my Christmas cards are addressed and in the mail! I finished them up yesterday and it was great to cross that off of my 'to-do' list! Do you remember when I asked you all to let me know which Christmas card design you thought I would pick, based off of this blog post about shopping for cards? Well I am sharing with you all today, which design I picked! Did you guess correctly?

I am not sure about you, but I love sending & receiving Christmas cards every year, event though I am finding that I receive less and less every year. Most people refuse to pay the cost of stamps to send them out but I just decided to limit my list of recipients to a book of stamps and that's it. Nevertheless, I love taking the time to figure out what I want my cards to look like, decide on a photo and then what feeling I wish to convey when a person is holding our cards . . . classic, whimsical, humorous!

This year I got my Christmas cards from Minted as I have been wanting to give them a try for awhile and this year was the year! So how did I decide on the design that I chose? Well it's simple. I decided that since this was the first FULL year that my daughter has had with her new puppy Chili, that they would be the focus of the card this year and we'd go for more of a whimsical feel, since that's how we do Christmas too!

The photo has a kind of a retro feel to it and when I got these cards back from Minted, the finish on the cards was very matte and printed in thick cardstock so it all blended well together and I was happy with the way they turned out!

Quite honestly I picked the card design I did because once I got done editing the photos, I decided this photo looked the best with this design. I simply uploaded the picture to their website and typed in our names and ordered them. They arrived pretty quick (within a few days) and then I was anxious to sit down and do some nice hand lettering on the envelopes before sending out.

We had an extremely busy week and weekend so instead of inking the envelopes with some fancy hand lettering, I simply wrote them out quickly to save on time and get these babies in the mail. I still think they look pretty good. I of course, at least, matched the pen color to the color of the cards. Duh! ;)

Do you send out Christmas cards still? I would love to hear whether you design your own or order them from somewhere. Or perhaps you simply go 'old school' and send out actual cards that have a pre-printed message inside. I do those every few years too as I still love them.
