Today I am bringing you a special edition of my HOME|MADE series! As you know last time we chatted, I was working on the bathroom & shared with you how I re-painted a bathroom cabinet but today we are on to another room in the house! One of my new favorite rooms! ;)
This room "used to be" a formal dining room but I have recently converted it into a huge craft room and will be sharing those details later but for now I can share a peek with you, of a project I did on one of the walls in the room. I am super excited to share this new project I did with you, as I got to use a product from a wonderful company I had the pleasure of meeting at SNAP conference!
For the longest time I have been trying to figure out what to put on the wall above this Expedit shelf . . . should I make a gallery wall? Should I hang a huge mirror? And what I have told myself lately is, when in doubt . . .do NOTHING! So nothing is what has been above this and I was tired of looking at the bare wall so when I met the people from Royal Design Studio at SNAP and they shared about the new Wallternatives line they were getting ready to launch, I knew this was it! I mean seriously, you have to check out all the designs they have available plus the different types of vinyl designs, they are all so cool!
What is Wallternatives you ask? Here is a description straight from them:
"Wallternatives™ ARE the artful
alternative to ordinary walls. At Wallternatives™, our goal is to provide easily
applied Pattern for the People™. That’s you! And not just any old
patterns! We want you to have your choice of the most delightful pattern
options, offered across a variety of material options to suit every design
demand and surface requirement. We are committed to empowering you to create a
home that is more colorful, more fun, more expressive, and more designed around
“you” without investing a lot of time!"
I also really wanted to give this little area a "facelift" as I haven't liked what I had arranged on it for awhile now but then I got a few new things recently and thought it was time to re-work the area to get it looking better since the wall was looking so FAB! So re-arranged I did and now it's all good! Everyone loves to see a good "before" & "after" pics, so here they are . . . .
I love how the new white bowl ties into the vinyl design on the wall and looks like it was made to go together! LOVE when things come together like this! The changes were subtle, some things were just moved, some were taken away but I think it looks streamlined and fresh! ;)
Another before and after side-by-side . . .
Here is a photo of the vinyl before I applied it to the wall and right afterwards. I purposely placed the ends of the flower stems a little behind the shelf so it looked like it was coming up from behind it.
And a few more shots all decorated and beautified! ;)
So what do you guys think? Have you ever decorated using vinyl on your walls? Which design do you like from their amazing selection? I would love to know, so comment below as I am wanting to do another area as well and would love to hear what you like. Thanks for reading. xoxo
