FREEBIE :: HERO Art Print - Father's Day Printables

Hello everyone and welcome to June!

Summer is here and so is the next holiday which is fast approaching: Father's Day . . . it's only a couple weeks away, can you believe it? Well I am here to help you out in preparing for the day by offering you a FREE printable that can be used to gift to that special father figure in your life.

This hand lettered print was one of my free downloads a couple years ago for a stylized shoot I did with a brand but I thought I would bring it back and offer it again since you may not have been around the first time it was here. I love the patriotic feel to this one as it goes so well with the message here. How many people think of their dads or someone else as their 'hero'? Probably more than we think which is why this is perfect for dads, grandpas, military men AND women and anyone else that you view as a HERO!

So I give you this hand lettered print: 'Forever My HERO' art print!

But that's not all! ;)

As you can see here I also included an additional FREEBIE for you to enjoy . . . matching party flags! These can be used in your drinks and/or as food decor. Simply attach to a straw and insert in your fave beverage for the day. Or tape to a toothpick and adorn your piece of cake, dessert or your food at your gathering . . . anything you want to add a little 'eye candy' too!

Feel free to download your own 'Forever My HERO art print' and the Hero collection 'drink flags' to use in your drinks or for food decor! Please enjoy them as they give your celebration that added 'eye candy'!

**FREE printables are for personal use ONLY and may not be sold or claimed to be your design. By printing any freebies, you are agreeing to these terms.

Don't forget I also offer CUSTOM hand lettered prints, decor and anything else you would like hand lettering done on, just ask! Do you think you have a great idea? Just shoot me an email . . . at laura@eyecandycs.com and I'd love to chat with y'all!

FREEBIE :: USA Art Print + table tents

I've got a special gift for you today! I have not one but two different freebies for you to download and use for your next party, ya know the ones where you celebrate the good 'ol U.S.A.! Memorial Day, the 4th of July, Labor day or any day where celebrating this country is on the menu!

I have included an American art print . . . the U.S.A. art print to download that you can print out, frame and you will have instant party decor on your food or drink table. Then make sure to also print out the U.S.A. tabletents that you can use to let your guests know what you are serving up at your next BBQ or cookout! They both are free U.S.A. party decor freebies that you can download and enjoy!

As you can see here, I used them to write in different drink options for my guests. One that was a cocktail and one that wasn't, as it helps to know what you are serving up to drink but you can also use these to label food options as well.

Another idea would be to use these for placecards if you were wanting to separate people at a sit-down . . . ya know, if you need to do that sort of thing. ;) This will help make it not so obvious. lol Just write in their names after you print them out and no one will be guessing where to take a seat.

You can download the USA Subway Art and the USA table tents &
start enjoying them.

FREEBIE :: MY WISH to honor 9/11

Remembering 9/11.

It does NOT get easier.

This week, every single year I am sad.

Sad for the fact that babies grew up without a father or mother. Sad that parents lost a child. Sad that first responders simply were doing their jobs and didn't make it.

I'm also sad that I am living in a world that is so full of hate that someone plotted this against us. That they WANTED to do this.

AND I am sad because I feel that we are in a time that things are going to get much worse I'm afraid, before they get any better. How did we get here?

What really makes me the saddest, is people not remembering as much anymore or not wanting to talk about it. How hard is it really to take a moment and say a prayer for these people as I feel it is OUR DUTY to NEVER forget all of these people. If you aren't the praying type, then at least stop to remember those who died that day. What if it had been us? Wouldn't you want people to remember YOU?

On thing that I would LOVE to see again is the UNITY from those days and years that followed that nightmare of a day. I think because I lived through this piece of history , I share how I feel so often and why I hold it so personal. Or maybe it's just because I am so patriotic, I'm not sure.

I would like to do my part to see if we can get that going again . . .the UNITY. Even if only 1000 people read this and do this, I would be happy but can you imagine if more than that did? WOW - it would be amazing! Because as Americans, we CAN DO amazing things. We can do anything we set our minds to but we have to try, we have to start and we need to quit talking about it & just DO IT!

Every year I try to figure out a way I can do MY part in helping to remember. I was given the talent of being creative so I have used my artistic abilities to try & share graphics to help people remember this day coming up. People like having different ways to help them remember.

One year I did a FREE Subway art download . . .

and then last year I created a Facebook timeline cover that went over really well.

So my wish for this year is simple . . .

I want everyone to download the 9/11 Facebook cover timeline (<------- just click on this link), download it and change your Facebook timeline cover to this 9/11 one! Can you imagine if we could get all of our friends to participate in this & light up our FB timelines with red, white & blue? Oh how FABULOUS would that be.

This is MY wish. But I can not do it alone. I NEED your help. Will you help me spread the word and try and unite us a nation for just a moment?

It's quite simple.

First, THANK YOU for reading this post.

Second, go ahead and download and change YOUR FB timeline cover.

Three, share this post and let's see what we can do when we UNITE together!

I can't wait to see what we can do and I appreciate you taking the time to try with me in doing this project! xoxo

Let us NEVER FORGET!

If you feel like sharing a memory that you want people to remember that day, feel free to share below . . . ;)

FREE HERO Art Print + Cold Stone Creamery Giveaway

This is a sponsored post in which I received product/compensation from Cold Stone Creamery. However, all opinions are strictly my own.

What does a hero look like to you?

Is it a person in the military? A teacher who inspired you? A parent that has sacrificed to give you everything you needed growing up? Maybe it is your father. Your dad. A father figure in your life. A step-dad or even that mom who plays the role of not only mother but a father too . . . a hero means something different to all of us. That is why today, I am sharing some ideas with you, about celebrating your "Forever my HERO" on Father's Day.

I designed some FREE printables for you that you can use in your "hero" celebration. I will be sharing some ideas on how to celebrate and I am so excited to have partnered with Cold Stone Creamery again to bring you these ideas on how you can celebrate your "forever my HERO" on Father's Day. But I also have another treat for you, Cold Stone Creamery is offering you, TWO chances to WIN a $25 gift certificate to two different lucky readers. (1 winner per certificate). You will have the chance to win the 'Tall, Dark and Delicious' cake you see here in just a minute.

Celebrating your hero does not have to be a lot of work or take much of your time, as the best celebrations are ones that can be done without going overboard. For this celebration I set up a dessert bar style table that we could all just walk up to and enjoy the delicious cake I picked up from Cold Stone Creamery along with some fresh strawberries.

Using our kitchenette table with a white table runner and adding a crate from my office and pulling some vases from around the house, I made decorating this table easy by using items I already owned and had on hand. I coordinated the colors in the "hero" art print to match our dishes that I was already using for this celebration, on purpose. Try to always use items you already own and even go one step further and have your color scheme be dictated by the items you have on hand. I used blue mason jars for drinks and the cake stand and server were the most masculine ones I had on hand, but I love how it accents everything. ;)

As far as decorations were concerned, I re-used a blue tassel bunting I had used recently at another event along with the paper lantern inside the crate. Keep it simple. ;) Plus I designed some free striped drink flags as well to coordinate with the art print. So you are set.

As I mentioned, I am totally hooking you up with some FREEBIES to download so you can celebrate your hero. The colors I chose to go with my decor I had on hand, also remind me that this would be a great art print for a military person as well. Think about anyone that has inspired you and represents your hero, remember . . . it may be someone different for everyone or simply someone who is a "father figure" in your life. A person may not necessarily be blood related to be called family. ;)

When you download the files, they will be on two separate pages: one with the FREE "Forever my HERO" art print and the other page will have party flags that you can use to decorate your straws, adhere to some toothpicks and use for decoration in your food or your slice of ice cream cake from Cold Stone Creamery.

Trust me, you need to go online right now and order one of these ice cream cakes for your celebration because c'mon who doesn't like a cake called "Tall, Dark & Delicious"? Do I have your attention now? ;) Did I mention it has not only devil's food cake, sweet cream ice cream with brownies but also chocolate ice cream with OREO® Cookies and cascading fudge ganache! Told you you'd want to get one. I wanted to eat it all but it wasn't my day. ;)

I hope you will take the time this Father's Day to celebrate your "HERO" and enjoy that person's company as that will mean more than any gift you can give to them. Use the freebies I designed for you and keep it simple by ordering a Cold Stone cake and take the time to celebrate.

So WHO will you celebrate as your hero this Father's Day? Please leave a comment below and tell me what it is YOU have planned. Will you be using these printables?

I hope whatever you decide to do, that you have a wonderful Father's Day! xo
