Party Decor :: Using OnlineLabels.com

get your loom on, rainbow loom party, rainbow birthday, stickers, party decor labels

Today I am sharing with you a few more AWESOME projects I did for my daughter's "Rainbow Loom" birthday party! I love planning small projects to do for a party since it gives it the whole personal spin to it. A sense of satisfaction of completing these for the person of honor. ;)
The first one I did was a super easy kids party favor idea!

I sooooo scored on these amazing mini rainbow loom kits at Target. My husband spied them in the Dollar Spot section one evening, tucked away on a bottom shelf for $3 bucks a piece. I needed ten. They had exactly TEN! It was meant to be, so it was! ;)

This is what they looked like before and so I decided to use some labels from OnlineLabels.com to give these bad boys a well deserved makeover! These labels were the perfect size for this project as they came 6 on a sheet and looked so good with my design on them - that of course matched all of the rest of the Rainbow Loom collection.

Everyone loved receiving these as party favors along with a few other things at each of their place settings.

Before they got their party favors, I had to send them an invite and after I did some 'ol hand lettering on each of their names to grab their attention, I created a label to greet them when they flipped the envelope over to see what this was all about. I used these labels to create this one and I think it definitely added a little somethin' somethin' AND showcased we were ready to PAR-TAY! ;)

The last project I tackled was a BIG one. I personally had never made my own t-shirt but had always wanted to give it a try. So I designed a transfer, followed the direction on how to do this using this iron on transfer paper and it was pretty easy! I would love to give it another try as it was addicting, to see what else I can create and come up with!

To say my daughter was super stoked to have her very own birthday t-shirt that matched her party was an understatement! I left it as a last minute surprise and she loved it!

I loved using the OnlineLabels.com products to help me with my party decor. I never realized how many items they had that are so useful! You must check them out when you get a chance. Have you ever used labels in your party decor? What did you make? Let me know as I'd love to hear . . .

DIY :: Easy BBQ S'more Kits

Hershey's, graham crackers, marshmallows, s'mores, firepit, summer

Easy BBQ S'more Kits
by Melissa

It’s bbq season and I can’t wait to start planning all our parties! Memorial Day is coming up and that will be our first “real” bbq of the season!
I always try to have a little something for people to take home with them as a treat after a party.
This idea came from our camping days and how much fun we all have eating gooey s’mores!

I had a ton of these “cookie tins” left over from my Christmas cookie exchange and I did not want them to go to waste.

I turned over the lids using the silver side.  On my Silhouette machine I created these cute “S’more” Camp Badges.  Don’t have a Silhouette, no sweat!  You can purchase some camping theme stickers at your local craft store and use those to embellish the lid.

Inside – marshmallows, chocolate and some graham crackers – just enough for each guest to have a yummy treat.   Other ideas instead of s’mores – granola, trail mix, pretzels or even cereal.

They are easy to stack and put out on the tables.  If you don’t’ wait to give them out at the end of your party, have your guests use them during the party!  Set up a safe campfire and each person gets their own S’more package.

I hope you are planning some great gatherings this Spring and Summer!
Until next time – Party On Friends and have S’more Fun!

RECIPE :: Thankful Trail Mix

Thankful Trail Mix
by Melissa

Now that Halloween is behind us, it’s time to start talking Thanksgiving! For my family, Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks, football, lots of food and family!

One of my MUSTS for a successful Thanksgiving is keeping the kids busy!  One way I love to do that is to let them help me put together a Thankful Trail Mix. Not only does it keep them busy making it, but also eating it!   While I am in the kitchen preparing the meal, they are all sharing the duties of the putting together the Thankful Trail Mix.

What I like to do is put a handful of a lot of fun finger food goodies on plates and let the kids go crazy filling cute little treat cups.  These I found at the dollar spot at Target. I loved the owls and falling leaves!

I like to use some healthy, some sweet and some salty snacks for a great mix!  I am using raisins or craisins, butterscotch morsels, peanut butter coated candies, nuts, fishy crackers, and popcorn in my mix this year.  Great color, good texture and great taste!

Make sure the treat boxes are not that big so that they will save room for dinner!  It’s hard to resist the mix! Be warned, the adults might be sneaking some from the table also!

BONUS TIP:  You can use these on the “kids table” for place settings. Here I used a cute paper pendant flag and wrote my daughter’s name on it.

What traditions do you have at Thanksgiving?  I would love to hear about them!
