{INSPIRATION} Mother's Day Celebration

     

Hello there – it’s Melissa from My Party Passion.  Gearing up for some fun celebrating!   Now I know that I probably should not be planning my own Mother’s Day celebration, however, we traditionally camp on Mother’s Day weekend with our BFF’s and I always want my gal pal, Tina, to feel special. SO I come up with a little Mother’s Day Camping Party in a box to bring. 

 

This year I have decided (since we both have 3 little ones) to do a “Mother Bird and her Little Chicks Theme”.  Blue and Yellow are the color choices. Keeping it simple and designing the party that can travel easy was the key!

I will admit that I still have a special place in my heart for Laura’s Chick collection so I was probably “channeling” that when I decided to go with this theme 8)  

The “chick” that I picked was from my Silhouette machine. It is cute and simple. 

Using supplies that I already had in my shop was a very budget friendly way to create this party.

I am happy with how it all turned out. All I have to do is add in my food items when we celebrate (going with the chocolate pudding cups with crushed Oreos and gummie worms on top!) and we are good to go!  It all fits inside a box that can safely travel with us.

RECIPE :: Easy Spring Berry Parfait

    

Easy Spring Dessert 

Looking for something sweet to serve for Mother's Day? This recipe is easy and only requires 3 ingredients! You can even do it with all store-bought items to make for a quick and easy dessert for brunch, lunch, or dinner.

I love a parfait so when I had these perfect strawberries to serve, I thought a little cookie berry parfait would be a delightful dessert. Stack as many layers as you like and use your favorite cookies. It is so easy, the kids can make this and feel proud to serve something yummy on a special day.

Spring Berry Parfait

~makes 4 and takes less than 5 minutes to assemble~

Ingredients:

- 12 cookies (I used round shortbread but vanilla wafers or gingersnaps would also work well)

- 1 to 2 cups of berries (depending on size of glass or bowl)

-  Whipped cream

How to:

- Use 4 glasses or bowls and place a cookie in the bottom

- Top with a dollop of whipped cream and a scoop of berries

- Place another cookie on top and repeat with berries and cream

- Top with a cookie and serve with a fork or spoon

Serve immediately and enjoy!

CRAFT :: Teacher Appreciation Cards

     

Hi there!  It’s Wendy from Scrappy Bags with some teacher appreciation cards that I made from Laura’s adorable Teacher Appreciation Party printables.

Today I am going to walk you through how I make cards from those brown paper bags that you can pick up at the grocery store.  Gather up some school scrapbooking papers and your supplies.  I found lots of fun paper at my local scrapbooking store.

Take that brown paper lunch bags and lay it out flat.

I then simply fold the paper bag in half.  You now will have a 5x5 square to work with.  With me so far?

I then printed out a bunch of Laura’s teacher appreciation items and got creative!  The first card I made using the my teacher rules chick.  I cut it down a bit to make it work within the 5x5 square and added some embellishments.

 

Open up your folded paper bag to do the inside.  I added some fun paper on the left with a ruler and then I used the lined “school paper” and added an apple, that I cut from my Silhouette Cameo, as an embellishment.  The lined paper is perfect for writing your own personal message.  

The next card that I made was using the smaller squares that Laura has listed in her shop as Teacher Appreciation Toppers.  I cut down the thanks! cards with the yellow gingham to make a banner.  I then added some more lined paper and an apple.  I also added in my own handwriting A+  teacher.

Open up your bag and decorate.  I cut a circle using the my teacher rules printable and added some blue cardstock behind it for an extra pop of color.  I then added some red lined paper for a personal message.

The last card that I made uses the teachers make a difference printable.  I cut this one down also to work with my card size.  I added some lined paper and yellow cardstock to the back of it to make it fun and then backed this with some cute school days paper.  I also added some scrapper’s floss in orange and red.

For the inside I added more school days cardstock and lined school paper to add a personal message.  I also used one of the small you are special printables and added a yellow flag to it. 

There you have it – easy peasy, right?  Let your imagination go crazy.  You can make lots of fun cards with Laura’s teacher appreciation printables!
