Hello my friends! I have had a super busy week - so much so, that I forgot to share this post with you. But since Valentines Day was just yesterday, I thought I would go ahead and share anyway . . . I mean we all are in our Valentines candy comas still right? lol
I always love sharing what I do with my living room mantel as it's the perfect backdrop every holiday for my decorating fun! Having said that, I thought it
was high time for me to document and share what I did with the mantel
this year. Valentines Day is one of those holidays that just gets the mantel. Meaning, that is all I am going to decorate. Mantel = done. For the major holidays: Christmas, Halloween and Easter, I usually decorate the house - as in most, if not all of it, but these smaller holidays throughout the year, they just get the mantel. ;)
For my Valentines mantel this year, I kept it pretty simple and decided on using my black and white decor already being used in the living room and adding the traditional RED this year. Last year, I did a the mantel all in pinks so this year I chose to add the red in and I love the simplicity of it as well as the classic vibe it created in the room.
Like I mentioned, most of the things I used this year, are things I already had. The Valentine banners hanging on the front, the big red heart and the black and white pitcher vase are from Target. The arrow, the wood sign that says 'be still & know' I got at Hobby Lobby. Then the rest of the other items are from HomeGoods or Michaels - you know the four basic home decor groups! ;)
I did however score a few new decor items recently as I had some gift cards left over from the holidays and decided to use them. If you follow me on Instagram, then you already saw in my stories a couple weeks ago that I picked up this fabulous vase with the macrame fringe on the outside, at Kirklands, along with the beige beads on the right side of the mantel. I absolutely LOVE them and can't wait to use them in my everyday living room decor as well. And that adorable potted plant sitting next to it? My sweet daughter gave me that for Christmas but it's from Target and I know they still have them.
I really like the simplicity of the mantel and how it came together. I know my daughter appreciates me decorating for each holiday - even if it's just a small area like this. I like to imagine when she is a mom herself, that she will tell her kids . . ."grandma used to decorate for every holiday and make it so festive!"
I hope the little things like this, are the ones she looks back on fondly when she remembers growing up in her childhood home and knows this is just one little way I made this house of ours a home for us. ;)
Hope you enjoyed a peek into my Valentines decor this year. Did you do anything with your mantel or decorate for Valentines Day this year? Let me know below as I'd love
to hear from you . . .
Have a great one . . . until next time my friends! xoxo

Hello and Happy Halloween!!!
Today I wanted to share with all of you how I decorated my home this year for Halloween! My daughter has a party every year so I tend to maybe do a little more decorating than the average person but that's more than OK with me since we love Halloween around here! ;)
Some years the decorating just comes together perfectly and other years it can be a struggle to figure out something new to do with your home decor but for me, this year was a mix of both. I was trying to do something different with what I had and I realized the problem was I was NOT liking the mix of ALL of the Halloween colored decor that I have. Sometimes you hear of people trying to mix all of the decor together to create a uniform look throughout the decor going from room to room in their homes but I am here to show you that you do NOT have to do that and it still works!
I decided on featuring different rooms with different colored decor instead of the traditional mix of them all and I LOVE LOVE LOVE how it turned out!
Let's start with my MANTEL. I LOVE my mantel and it was one of the areas of my condo that convinced me to purchase this place as it is so perfect for decorating during the holidays. I did the mantel in the traditional classic orange and black Halloween decor with just a hint of spookiness thrown in! ;)
Most of the items here I have collected from my favorite stores over the years: Target, Hobby Lobby and Pier 1. The haunted house came from a partnership with Yankee Candle a couple years ago and the Halloween subway art you can download for FREE from my blog.
Just to the left of our mantel, is where the couch and this gallery wall area are in the living room. I continued the orange and black Halloween decor and added a few touches to our already black and white living room.
The last part of my living room that I always love to decorate is the table under our TV because it is right across from the couch and we are always staring at it so it has to look great right? ;).
Now it's time to change color schemes and check out some, well what I like to call 'glam Halloween' decor which is my decor that consists of some glitter and bright fun colors. This area is next to the living room which used to be our formal dining room that I turned into my craft room. ;)
This year I added some new decor to my dining room table as Target had these amazing velvet pumpkins that I "may" have bought a few of ;) and these potion bottles to match! I just had to have these for my centerpiece this year!
Well there it is, my latest Halloween decorations for this year! Hope you enjoyed looking though them and maybe you got an idea or two for your own home. What is your favorite items to decorate with for Halloween? Let me know below as I love hearing what others decorate with!
Have a great week my friends!

Hello my friends and welcome to SPRING!!! Today I wanted to pop on here real quick and share with all of you what I did with my mantel this year for Easter! Some years I go all out and other years I try to do the 'minimalist' look and I think this year was one of those years. I have been purging a lot of 'extra stuff' around the house and have settled on the things that I truly love and so that is what I decorated with this year. Most of the items you will see me use, I already had but of course I DID buy a couple new items because there were some really cute things out in the stores I visit, this year. The 'Happy Easter' art I picked up at Marshalls and the Easter bunny garland I found in the Dollar Spot at Target, as well as that pink honeycomb bowl.
After I decorated, I realized I may have a slight fondness of bunnies as they make quite an appearance on the mantel and around the rest of my house. I kept the mantel more on the whimsical side this year whereas the other Easter decor I have around the house is more the natural looking items. I love how it turned out and has put us all in the mood for Easter. I mean Easter bunnies, Easter chick and Easter eggs oh my! ;)

I really love Easter and everything about it. I love the whimsical side of it involving fun Easter egg hunts, the fun bright colors and all of the bunnies, chicks and fun items that just make it Easter. However I never forget the real reason we even have Easter and the meaning behind it. For all of you that believe like I do, I will have a fabulous art piece that I will be sharing here in a couple days, just in time to celebrate our King. Until then, hopefully you all enjoyed checking out my Easter mantel decor for this year and are in the mood at your home too, to celebrate however you do. ;)
What is your favorite items to decorate with for Easter? Let me know below as I'd love
to hear from you . . .
