DESIGN :: Hand Lettered LOGOS

     

Logos anyone? I just wanted to drop in with a quick update and to share some new logos I have designed recently with you. Are you, by chance looking for a new logo for your business? PERSONAL :: Kawasaki Disease Awareness Day

Today is National Kawasaki Disease Awareness Day - January 26th. Did you know that? Do you even know what this is? Have you ever even heard about this disease before? 

No worries if you haven't as only about 4200 cases are reported in the U.S. every year so unfortunately it is one of those diseases without a LOT of answers yet. It is a very rare but dangerous disease.


Here are some facts:
- KD affects people from all racial and ethnic groups
- KD is characterized by an inflammation of the blood vessels throughout the body 
- there is NO specific testing a doctor can do, therefore it is based on physical findings that include:

1. a fever that lasts for five or more days
2. a rash on the main part of the body but often is worse in the groin region
3. extremely red and bloodshot eyes without a thick discharge
4. bright red, swollen and cracked lips and a 'strawberry' tongue
5. swollen hands and feet and redness of the palms and soles of the feet
6. swollen lymph nodes in the neck

- KD is NOT contagious
- KD is the #1 cause of acquired heart disease in U.S. children
- KD primarily affects children under the age of FIVE

These are just a FEW of the facts on this disease. Make sure and do yourself a favor by heading over to the Kawasaki Foundation's website, so you can know the facts and be educated about this rare disease that is on the rise. It could save someone you love or someone you know.


Before you go, let me introduce you to a very special little boy to me. 

This little guy here . . .the one with this BIG personality. This is Samuel. We call him 'Sam the man' as he is a HERO to a lot of people. Why you ask? He was diagnosed over four years ago with Kawasaki Disease and is living proof that by educating yourself and knowing the signs early enough, you can save a heart. Is he going to be able to do everything a healthy kid his age does? No, but that's ok. We have to look out for his heart, as it's a special one and it's been affected by the disease but we all are hoping with him on his meds and a whole lot of continued prayers that he will be our special little hero forever . . . because 'normal' is boring anyway and heroes ROCK. Especially this one.

He is OUR HERO because he doesn't let this disease define him. He takes it all in stride, never complaining and is always good for a laugh. He is just chill.

He is ONE of the COOLest kids I know and I am proud to be his aunt. I love you little buddy and I will always have your back! xoxo

SALE :: LOGO DESIGNS

Are you or someone you know currently in the market for a new LOGO DESIGN? In case you didn't know, I am a graphic designer and my background is in design so I love designing logos as well as what you see me doing here. I get inquires all of the time and have designed many logos for you all but I have been asked in the last few months if I ever have a sale on my logos.

So it got me thinking, as when someone hires me as their designer, they also get many options to choose from, for their logo, on the first round with me, as I want to ensure the client gets exactly what they are looking for. Often times, my clients have a hard time picking just one design and I am left with a lot of great logos that hit the design floor, 'so to speak'. So here is my idea as it may help those of you that have been inquiring about a new logo or a makeover on yours . . . why not take some of these logos and sell them to you all 'as-is'. Meaning I will share them with you and they will be at a discounted price since they are already designed and ready to go for the most part. The price will include inserting your name into the logo and of course your color palette for your biz. I will have it include MINOR changes to the logos and you will receive ONE proof/round of changes. ANY other design changes will be discussed and most likely incur an additional fee. However the savings on these will for sure be a benefit to someone looking for a cost effective way to gain a new logo!

I thought it was about time for a reminder of what I LOVE to do most. DESIGN WORK. You may not know this about me but I went to college in Los Angeles for Graphic Design, minored in Fashion Illustration and now have 25+ years of experience in the field. And still, after 25 years I still LOVE it just as much as the first day I fell in love with design, heck maybe even more now. ;)

I sometimes get so busy that I forget to update my folders on Facebook showcasing my latest design projects or sharing them here so I felt I needed to give you a quick update and share some of the latest work because I am always designing something. ;)

maybe just an update/ mini face-lift? 

if you have been wondering what I have been up to lately . . . 

well this is it! Logos, logos & more logos!

I started this company as an event company that handles ALL the details.

I still do that. but wanted to E-X-P-A-N-D  . .  .just a bit {for now}

so I added the 'graphic' side to the biz & have been focusing more on that.  the response has been A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! much love to all of you who have entrusted me with your logo . . . it has been an HONOR!  

if you have been thinking about contacting me but not quite sure if I have the experience read this {it should help}:

You may not know this about me but I went to college in Los Angeles for Graphic Design, minored in Fashion Illustration (after realizing my big 'ol dreams of being a FAMOUS fashion designer were probably NOT gonna happen-lol) and now have 20+ years of experience in the field. 

I have worked in a variety of markets within this field including newspaper advertising/design, telephone directory advertising/design, teaching at college level & starting up their graphic design department, various advertising agencies doing freelance & my last position (working for 'the man' - before the "man" decided to shut down, move out of state & lay everyone off) was for a MAJOR retail chain as one of the head graphic designers - designing everything from print advertising, logos, websites, etc.

My point in sharing all of this - is I DO have the experience & you can TRUST me to design your logo. I have designed it all from corporate branding to fun & whimsy . . . not a problem!

My goal as your designer is giving you a logo that you will be IN LOVE with!

Some customers know EXACTLY what they want & others have no idea - there is no right or wrong . . it's ALL good!

how about - mini blog makeovers!

these are so FUN, as I have had numerous inquiries about this & can now say that I will do them. I am adding services S-L-O-W as I want to allow myself enough time to get everyone's done that wants each service BEFORE adding a new one.

do I have more 'services' up my sleeve that will slowly be making their way into an announcement on this blog? well you know me . . . I ALWAYS have something up my sleeve! but you can bet i LISTEN to what you ask for & work on giving you just that - at a price that i believe is fair. so be patient & i think all of your 'graphic' wishes you have expressed to me will come true soon & I mean ALL of them, all scheduled to launch little by little by the end of this year.

am I still going to be doing printables & design work such as collections, invites, stationery, etc. Of course but now I will also be sharing all of my experience in design work through logos, blog makeovers & more.
