What a treat that I have for you today! A seasonal inspiration board full of fun: a HALLOWEEN wedding inspiration board. Some of you may be thinking . . . there is NO WAAAAAY I would have a Halloween wedding but here's the thing, for the person who loves Halloween and who loves all that is available in the fall months, this may be the perfect theme for them. Does it mean you have to have guts n' gore for the wedding? NOOOOO . . . you can still have the class of a traditional wedding with the elements of Halloween all wrapped up in one!

Just imagine a black and white wedding & just adding touches of orange to it. The orange just pops off the neutral color scheme plus gives it that 'wow' factor all while keeping with a traditional wedding theme. Personally I thought about doing this myself as I LOVE the fall months for a wedding but in the end we went a different direction . . .actually different time of year as well. lol

Have you ever been to a Halloween wedding? What was your favorite element of the event?  I would LOVE to hear the details . . .spill below ;)

DIY Spooky Halloween Lanterns
by Melissa

BOO!  Did I scare ya?  Probably not and neither will these kid friendly Spooky Halloween Lanterns, but they will go easy on the budget and you can get the kids involved in creating them! I'm sneaking into your day with a quick tutorial on these cuties!

What you need:

Two White Paper lanterns (Dollar store has these around Halloween)

Black & White card stock

Glue stick and glue dots

Scissors

Glitter

Gauze or gauze tape

The first lantern I made was the Batty Lantern. You can cut out bats using your card stock (kids can do this part if they are allowed to use scissors) or if you have a die cutter or Silhouette machine that makes it even easier.  After that I put some glue on the wings and glittered those wings right up!

Then I used my glue dots and stuck the wings to the lantern (I used the easy to remove dots so I can reuse my lantern for other events).  Easy as 1 -2 -3!  They are fun and so easy to decorate your table with.  They don’t have to be hung. You can put them on a candle holder or even just right onto the table. If you have a tea light that is battery operated (please no real fire candles around these paper lanterns) you can put those inside and they will even add more of a spookiness to your table!

My next project was even easier if you can believe that. All I did is have the kids cut out a set of eyes and glitter those up.

Then I wrapped some gauze tape around my white lantern a few times. Used glue dots to glue on the eyes and there you have it – Mummy Lantern!

BONUS TIP:  IF you can’t find or don’t have white paper lanterns at home you can always use a white balloon!

Here’s hoping your Halloween is safe and spooky!  Until next time – Party On Friends!

RECIPE :: Think Pink CUPCAKES

check the girls, awareness week, breast cancer awareness, think pink

Think PINK Cupcakes
by Kimberley

Have you checked your girls lately? Perhaps not. Like most women, we are busy, too busy to take care of ourselves. But this month, we are reminded why it is so important to take care of our health first. Breast cancer is a part of our lives. If we haven't been directly affected, then someone we know has. But it doesn't have to be this way. I will never forget a poster in our high school nurse's office that stated "80% of all cancer is preventable." This has stuck with me. Because whether it is lifestyle choices or early detection methods, we all have a hand (pun intended) in preventing cancer.

To celebrate the "girls" and your girlfriends, why not bake up a batch of these easy, tasty cupcakes with pink frosting and serve with a cup of tea? That's what I will be doing.

Easy Vanilla Cupcakes with Pink Frosting

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

This recipe makes approximately 24 mini cupcakes plus 6 regular cupcakes, or 18 regular cupcakes.

In a large bowl, cream together 1/3 cup softened butter, 1/3 cup white sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1 egg.

Add 1 3/4 cups flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder, 1 teaspoon salt. Combine and then add 3/4 cups milk.

Scoop into lined muffin or cupcake tins.

Bake minis for 15 minutes, bake regular cupcakes for 25 minutes.

Remove from oven and cool on wire rack.

Pink Frosting:

Cream 1 cup softened butter in medium bowl, and slowly add 2 cups confectioners sugar. Add 1 tablespoon of milk (or more) to smooth out. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla.

When completely smooth, add color- 3 drops of liquid color or a small dab of paste color. Blend until color is incorporated.

When cupcakes have cooled, frost with Pink Frosting. You can spread on or place frosting in a zip top bag, seal, and snip corner to pipe out frosting onto cupcakes. You may want to decorate with some cute pink candies.

Enjoy! (and be sure to check your girls!)

This month is important for ALL of us. It's breast cancer awareness month, so in keeping with the PINK theme that is goin on, I decided to share this GORGEOUS & very PINK, inspiration board with you today.

Paper lanterns are a must at every event, if you ask me, as they add so much fun to your party. This pink bouquet is simply stunning against a PINK dress . . . can you believe all of that gorgeous-ness? {sigh} . Using a picture frame painted in the color of your wedding & then placing the seating assignments in it, is a genius idea to keep organized guests all while looking very pretty. A signature cocktail in a bottle . . .yes please! The pastel pink tie with the grey suit is a dream choice for your man to wear - it is simply stunning together. Candles, flowers & that gorgeous table cloth make for quite the statement at the reception & is an amazing way to glam it up at your reception.

PINK is such a great color choice ANY time of year. Are you planning any kind of party or even a wedding using PINK? I would LOVE to hear the details . . .spill below ;)
