Classic Lemonade + a Twist

Summer, summer, summertime….let’s just sit back and unwind….I love that song from the 80’s!   What I love even more is a great mocktail or cocktail on our deck on a warm night.

Today I have a CLASSIC LEMONADE recipe for you.  Using fresh lemons, water and sugar – pretty easy!

8 Lemons
1 cup sugar
1 cup water (for the simple syrup)
1 cup lemon juice
3 – 4 cups cold water (to dilute)
Ice

Juice fresh lemons (I use my Kitchenaid, but you can also do this by hand)
Strain the juice so you have no pits or pulp.

Mix your 1 cup of sugar with your 1 cup of water in a pan and heat until you dilute the sugar (simple syrup).

Add the lemon juice to your simple syrup.  Mix then add your 3 -4 cups of cold water (to taste).  Serve with fruit over ice.

For the adults, you can add some rum or vodka for a splash of crazy!
Throw in a cute Cocktail Umbrella from Laura’s Collection and you have a fun drink that you can cool off with.

BONUS:  Use your lemon halves to clean you sink faucets and bathroom fixtures. Helps get any of the grime off and sparkles like new!
Until next time – Party On Friends!
