Thanksgiving is fast approaching and so many people are already planning their table tops and how they will decorate them this year. Last year I hosted Thanksgiving and kept the table very simple with minimal decorations. But the one thing I really loved about it was the color choice I did: teal and chocolate brown . . . I loved it! Unfortunately I never blogged about it or else I would show you pics! ;)
This year my mom is hosting but it still got me thinking about some really amazing colors to marry together to give you guys some ideas. It's funny where inspiration will come to you and I was walking through the store the other day and saw these gorgeous plum flowers, purchased them and the next thing I know, I am planning a mini tablescape to put together! Don't these colors look amazing together?
I also wanted to share an easy way to recycle your Halloween pumpkins sitting around. You can paint them in your choice of colors (to match your table) and then do a little hand lettering on them to use as placecards at your Thanksgiving table! It's so easy and don't worry about it being perfect either as writing on a pumpkin is not easy but try your best! Just use a white marker or even paint them on with a small brush! Instant personalized table!
Are YOU hosting Thanksgiving this year? Have you ever done a non-traditional color scheme? I would love to know, comment below . . .

ReplyDeleteWe've hosted Thanksgiving for the last several years but we don't do a lot of formal anything. Last year was the first year at a table large enough to hold us AND the food so we didn't have to do it buffet style (I was in heaven, lol). I love those painted pumpkins, maybe that would be a nice touch for this year's table :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, these are absolutely beautiful! They look so classy!
