LETTERING :: Wedding Signage

     

Hey there you guys!

 

I am popping in today to share a couple, of the custom orders that I have been working on lately. Both of these just happen to be for weddings (which I am loving) but we all know that hand lettered items work perfectly for any event, so please contact me anytime! ;)

I also have a huge job for a client coming up that involves menus, signage and a few more things that I can't wait to get in there and 'ink' as I have seen some of the decor for this event and she is going ALL IN!! ;) It will be FAB!

These first signs were for a bride that is getting married, on the beach this weekend and she requested dark blue card stock with white lettering and coral accents. She wanted a variety of signage around her event. Some of these were for the reception area and her popcorn bar (doesn't that sound delish?) and others she had me make for their guests. One says "take one, if you're chilly' and the other is encouraging them to take a pair of flip flops, if they would like. Signs like this are a perfect, yet subtle way, to make sure your guests know what is expected or what they 'can' take, so make sure when you plan your next event, to think about if the guests will know what you want them to do. Having a simple sign can help so much!

Along with inking matching table tents cards with all of the different flavors of popcorn for her, I also was asked to create some other larger table tents signs to have around the event.

The white table tents were for a different event and I was asked to ink certain cake flavors on white cards with grey ink and gold accents. This person requested more of a casual writing, so you can see the difference just with these two jobs of the various styles and the look they give.

ROUND UP :: One Smart Cookie Parties

      
Planning a graduation party? What about an idea for the end-of-year school party? Back-to-school party? Perhaps a good 'ol milk and cookies get together? Today I am sharing a round up of some fun & amazing One Smart Cookie parties!

A few years ago I got a request to design this collection: One Smart Cookie, to be used for an end-of-school party and it has continued to be a BIG seller in the shop for me and I believe it's because of the versatility of the collection. Since then it's been used for many end of school year parties but also graduation parties. It is the perfect theme for a younger kid's school graduation. It's also great for a back-to-school party to get kids all psyched to head back, by using this collection and making it FUN for them. I have also had many use it for a general 'milk and cookies' type party for a birthday just by altering the collection a little.

I also am providing the original party post from the person who FIRST used this collection. She used it for an end-of-year party/ kick off to summer party & has lots of amazing details! I think it's fun to see what different people do with the same collection.

My friend Stefani from Everyday Party Magazine, used this collection for her kid's graduation party and had the colors changed from red to a light blue color palette and I love her ideas she did with this! My favorite is using the nerd glasses for the party favors! ;) So cute!

My friend, Michelle from Maddycakes Muse, used this collection to throw her daughter & her friends a back-to-school party! You must check out the cute ideas she incorporated into her party!

Don't you just love all of the different ideas used with this collection? I have some pretty talented friends that have used this collection. As always, I feel so honored to be a small part of their memories they are making with their kids! =)

The biggest request I have had with this collection is to customize it to the school colors of the person buying it. I have a few alternate color options in the shop but have made plenty of them in varying color schemes. I have just added a NEW color combo to the shop: a GREEN 'One Smart Cookie' collection option but as always I can customize to ANY color you may need!

The colors I have done, upon request, are: burgundy & gold, navy & gold, royal and a red, white & blue. What colors would you like to see this done in? Feel free to comment below with your thoughts . . . thanks! =)

WEDDING :: Floral Garden Inspiration Board

Hello everyone & welcome to "Wedding Wednesday"!

  Spring and summer is the perfect time to celebrate all things floral. Floral patterns, floral dresses, floral cakes . . . all of it! It's the perfect backdrop for outdoor events as florals can be found everywhere which makes planning an event around this theme super easy this time of year. Now would I recommend mixing all of these floral ideas together? Oh heavens no, but pair up a few floral items with a solid color from your color palette and you have one amazing event.

 
  Make sure to have plenty of straws on hand at the bar for your signature cocktails and mocktails, these striped and floral designs will look stunning in those tasty drinks! Dress up an area easily with some floral bunting as it turns an area into a well decorated area in a snap. Choose to have your guests enjoy their treats off of some gorgeous floral tableware. I love the small floral details on these. If you are looking for the perfect bridesmaids dress to coordinate with a floral garden wedding, this IS the one - I mean the colors, the design, it is seriously stunning! I love everything hand lettered and these table tents would be the perfect little accent on tables to let guests know what they are eating. Your cake should command the attention of the table and having one this gorgeous will surely do the trick! Add floral touches to a dusty blue color scheme like this chair for guests or the backing of this table number frame, set on the tables. Remember a little can go a long way. Maybe you aren't feeling the whole 'wearing florals thing', in that case, maybe you would prefer a floral heel instead paired with a plain colored dress.

SHOPPING :: IKEA finds [May edition]

Hello and welcome to another addition of 'IKEA shopping finds', which is what I share that caught my eye, on my latest trip to IKEA!!! As you know, IKEA is one of my fave stores ev-aaaaaa! I haven't had an opportunity to go as often as I wanted to yet this year because well . . . LIFE . . . has gotten in the way a little bit lately, so ya gotta do that and then hit the 'fun stuff'. I made it happen this past weekend and I'm here to share with you what caught my eye this go around!

I'm already planning my next trip as I have a few areas of my home that are about to get some 'mini makeovers' and IKEA always has the goods for me! I know a lot of you enjoy shopping there as well, so if you would like to see what I found on my last couple trips, feel free to check out my finds here and when I went in January.

On this trip there I grabbed a couple items for a project I am working on, that I will share here soon, and of course all of the inspiration everywhere had me snapping ideas to share here for you! Enjoy my latest IKEA finds!

This. I mean seriously? Is this amazing or what? Spotted this chevron bad boy just as soon as I got there and was LOVING it! It's such a great piece as you could use it as an entertainment piece or bar/storage area too.

Every time and I mean EVERY time I see this color scheme together I am in love! Something about the berry color paired with grey just makes me want to re-do my whole house in these colors. I am so crushing on it! Anyone have a room in these colors?

I noticed some incredible new rugs in the room areas and was really liking this one as I am always down for a great graphic patterned area rug and this one makes the cut! It is such an eye catcher and blended in so well with this living room layout.

A couple items I am totally digging in this photo: this FAB new mirror on the wall above the couch = amazing! PLUS this rug . . . gotta love that rug! Loving the storage solution/coffee table idea as this is perfect to hide ALL THE STUFF! ;)

How much fun is this area? I mean look at those fun bar stools that are new! And all of the black and white decor is so hip and modern!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this yellow chair! Do I have any yellow in my home? Ummm . . no, but I still love it and I think YOU should get it for your home! I mean it needs a home right? ;)

I always love perusing through the lighting section as they always have the most fun lighting options, I mean look at these? New to the store and the price can not be beat! Would look perfect in a boys room, in my opinion.

Tick tock, tick tock! I see a wall of clocks! I like these but I hope that they eventually get even bigger ones in as I would love to get one. I think a giant clock on a wall can be so cool looking.

This was such a unique kitchen as the cabinet finish was one I had never seen before but I liked it. Paired up with these stainless steel appliances and this is one sharp looking kitchen!

Oh that wine storage! I am in awe! How sweet would that be? I mean c'mon that is plentttttttty of room for your wine collection right? ;)

This section . . . the PAR-TAY section as I call it, is definitely one of my must 'go-to' sections because I look forward to seeing what is new and fun. And this time was no exception . . . I mean pink and green. Ya know I may or may not just happen to looooove those colors! ;)

Those butterflies are just the sweetest things aren't they? I adored them on the lampshades but on the sides of these hat boxes or storage gift boxes . . . especially with the watercolor look of the boxes = just gorgeous!

 

I love seeing ideas for a kids room as I am constantly changing my daughter's room up to utilize the space we have in the best way possible. I love this bed set up with a little chillaxing 'lounge' underneath . . . I mean where was this when I was a kid, ya know! ;)

  

I must confess I have a thing for paper lanterns. I don't know I just LOVE them. So when these grabbed my eye, I headed over & then I SAW it! OMG!

 

these . . . these PEAR lights! I love pears and do you know what these are? Ready for this . . . SOLAR lights! How cool is that? Yup they are lightweight outdoor solar lights that come in this green color or white and they also have smaller ones too. I wanted to buy one to have as decoration in our living room but the hubs convinced me I was nuts! lol

A lot of their outdoor area items fell in line with this green color scheme and the lights and pear shaped items. I love how it all coordinates together!

 

So since I did NOT purchase the big solar powered pear, I "may" have bought a couple strands of these pear shaped lights to hang in my living room over my patio door instead. (heehee)

They had some fabulous outdoor seating options paired with fun lighting, pillows and rugs.

Also LOTS of potted plants were everywhere and these are great because you do not have to worry about watering them as they are fake. These small trees/ bushes lit up were so festive and would look great on a patio and they had plenty different options for the smaller potted plants as well.
